Common questions

No. Any logged-in administrator always sees the live site regardless of whether maintenance mode is active.
You share a URL like yoursite.com/?preview=abc123 with your client. When they visit it, a 7-day browser cookie is set so they can see the live site without a WordPress account. Regenerate the key anytime from the Access tab to revoke access.
All emails are saved directly to your own WordPress database in a dedicated table. No data is sent to external servers or third-party services.
The maintenance page sends a 503 status with a Retry-After header, telling search engines the outage is temporary. You can also enable Search Bot Bypass so crawlers see the real site entirely.
Delete the plugin via Plugins → Delete. The uninstall routine automatically removes the subscriber database table and all plugin options from your WordPress database.
